Tick Bite Symptoms

Ticks are a bunch of tiny arthropods and their main source of food is the blood of animals which includes humans. Ticks live in tall grasses, trees, leaf litter, shrubs and sometimes in your own backyard. Ticks cannot jump or fly onto their host's body. Instead they burrow into the skin without detection and start drawing blood. Soft-bodied ticks usually have their fill after a few hours but their hard-bodied cousins may stay on the host's skin for up to 2 weeks.

Tick bite symptoms include rash, muscle pain, headache, and swelling. These symptoms can emerge anytime between one day and several weeks following the tick bite, depending upon the infection passed on by the tick.

Tick bites may cause serious diseases in humans and animals. Therefore, people in tick-prone areas must take adequate precautions to protect themselves and their pets from tick bites.

Tick bites can be prevented by taking certain precautions. Pets and their environments should be treated with tick-killing pesticides, and they should be examined daily, especially if they are in tick-infested regions. Cats and dogs can also be made to wear tick collars. Individuals should wear light-colored clothes while gardening and walking in the woods.

Soon after initial invasion, Lyme disease starts to spread. It goes into the skin, causing rashes, muscles, tendons, joints, that causes pains. Also it goes into the heart and nervous system including brain. The result is devastating: you may experience myriad of disabling symptoms from dizziness, fatigue, depression, fibromyalgia, insomnia and palpitations to frank psychosis, heart block and paralysis.

Very often, the tick will be removed but a portion of the mouth and head area will remain in the skin. The tick has a barbed mouth which helps to secure it whilst it feeds. This is the reason for its reluctance to be parted from the flesh. For a tick bite treatment to be effective the tick must be pulled away using either forceps or tweezers placed as close as possible to the host's skin. It should be pulled straight and not twisted.

One of the main indicators of Tick Bite Lyme Disease is the flu-like symptoms. Patients usually experience muscle pains, headaches, chills and fever. The aforementioned symptoms makes This Disease really unnoticeable because the patient would think that what he has is just a simple flu. However, one of the common symptoms of this disease that distinguishes it from flu is a rash that goes with the tick bite.

The typical Lyme disease rash doesn't always develop into a bull's-eye. The rash can be in many forms or not even be there at all. This rash is usually the first sign . This disease is from ticks and the symptoms and signs range from body aches and fever to much more serious ones like temporary paralysis, fatigue, weakness and joint swelling. For some people there is a lyme disease itching symptom, but others report no itchy sensations.

Though they can attach at any place, here are some places on your body that they like going because it's warm and dark. This means that they'll possibly be able to burrow their head deep into your skin as they find before you know they're there. Unfortunately you won't feel a thing as they do this; even after they've got their head completely inside your body, you'll feel nothing at all.

Ticks are by far one of the nastiest creatures alive and to top it off, it can transmit Lyme Disease to your dog. Though ticks can affect humans and I'm sure we are aware of it, many are unaware of the damage it causes when it is transmitted in pets. Because many people forget about these harmful creatures, they often are not cautious enough to prevent their pet of getting bit by a tick by getting a tick bite treatment.

Rashes are a sign that may begin to appear either in a few days or in a month's time. These small, red bumps may form in the place where the tick bite has taken place. In a couple of days, the rash may become either the size of your fingertip or that of around twelve inches. This is one of the most common symptoms of Lyme disease and serves as a trademark of it. It affects around seventy to eighty percent of people who are suffering from it.
